68. Attachment (1)
집착 (1)
This was said by the Lord....
"Bhikkhus, one in whom attachment is not abandoned,
hate is not abandoned, and delusion is not abandoned,
is said to be in the bondage of Mara; he is caught
in Mara's noose and at the mercy of the Evil One.
Bhikkhus, one in whom attachment is abandoned,
hate is abandoned, and delusion is abandoned, is said to
be free from the bondage of Mara; he has cast off Mara's
noose and is not at the mercy of the Evil One."
세존께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다고.... [나는 들었다].
“비구들이여! 자기 안에서 집착을 버리지 못하고 증오심을 버리지
못하였으며 미망을 버리지 못한 사람은 마라에 속박된 사람이라고
하지요. 그는 마라의 올가미에 잡혀 있고 악마의 처분에 맡겨져
있지요.
비구들이여! 자기 안에서 집착을 버리고 증오심을 버렸으며 미망을
버린 사람은 마라의 속박에서 풀려난 사람이라고 하지요. 그는 마라의
올가미를 풀어버려서 [더 이상] 악마의 처분에 맡겨진 사람이 아니지요.
One who has destroyed attachment
Along with hate and ignorance
Is called one inwardly developed,
A Tathagata become supreme,
Awakened, past enmity and fear,
One who has abandoned all.
집착, 증오심과 어리석음을
소멸시켜 온 사람은
안으로 갈고 닦인 사람이라고 부르니,
여래는 으뜸 가는 이,
깨달은 사람, 원망과 두려움을 뛰어넘은 사람,
모든 것을 버려온 사람이 되네.
