70. Wrong View
잘못된 견해[邪見]
This was said by the Lord....
"Bhikkhus, I have seen beings who practise misconduct
by body, speech, and mind, who vilify the noble ones,
who hold wrong view and perform various deeds because
of their wrong view. When the body perishes, those beings
are reborn after death in a state of misery, a bad bourn,
a state of ruin, in hell. I say this, bhikkhus, without having
learnt it from another recluse or brahmin. It is just because
I myself have known it, seen it, and observed it that I say:
'Bhikkhus, I have seen beings who practise misconduct by
body, speech, and mind ... reborn after death in a state of
misery ... in hell.'"
세존께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다고.... [나는 들었다].
“비구들이여! 나는 몸과 말과 마음으로 악업을 짓고, 성인들을
비방하며 잘못된 견해를 고집하고 그 잘못된 견해 때문에 다양한
업을 짓는 존재[중생]들을 보아 왔소. 죽은 뒤 몸이 사라질 때
그 존재들은 비참한 경지, 나쁜 곳, 파멸의 경지, 지옥에 다시
태어나지요. 비구들이여! 내가 또 다른 수행자나 바라문에게서
듣지 않고, [직접 보고서] 이것을 말하는 것이오. 내가 ‘
비구들이여! 나는 몸과 말과 마음으로 악업을 짓고, ... 보아 왔소.
죽은 뒤... 비참한 경지,... 지옥에 다시 태어나지요. ’라고 말하는
것은 내 스스로가 그것을 [직접] 알고, 보고 관찰하여 왔기 때문이오.”
An individual here with
A wrongly directed mind
Who utters wrong speech
And performs wrong deeds,
One of little learning,
Who does demerit in this short life --
Upon the perishing of the body
That foolish one is reborn in hell.
여기[今生]에서 잘못 방향을 잡은 마음으로
잘못된 말을 토해내고
잘못된 행동을 저지르는 사람,
이 짧은 인생에 악덕을 짓는
배움[智慧]이 별로 없는 사람 -
그 어리석은 사람은 몸이 사라지는 순간에
지옥에 다시 태어나네.
