Thus have I heard. At one time the Lord was staying near Savatthi in the Jeta Wood at Anathapindika's monastery. On that occasion the Venerable Sariputta was sitting cross-legged not far from the Lord, holding his body erect and reviewing his own state of peace.
The Lord saw the Venerable Sariputta sitting cross-legged not far away ... reviewing his own state of peace.
Then, on realizing its significance, the Lord uttered on that occasion this inspired utterance:
³»°¡ ÀÌ¿Í °°ÀÌ µé¾ú´Ù. ÇÑ ¶§ ¼¼Á¸²²¼ »ç¹åƼ ±Ùó Á¬Å¸ ½£¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¾Æ³ªÅ¸ÇɵðÄ«[Ðå͵Լíþíº]ÀÇ ¼öµµ¿ø[Ѷê®ïñÞì]¿¡ ¸Ó¹°°í °è¼Ì´Ù. ±× ¶§ »ç¸®Ç²Å¸ Àå·Î°¡ ¼¼Á¸¿¡°Ô¼ ¸ÖÁö ¾ÊÀº °÷¿¡¼ °¡ºÎÁ¸¦ ÇÏ°í ¸öÀ» °ðÃß ¼¼¿î ä ¾É¾Æ¼ ÀÚ±â ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ÆòÈÀÇ °æÁö¸¦ »ìÆ캸°í ÀÖ¾ú´Ù.
»ç¸®Ç²Å¸ Àå·Î°¡ .... ¸ÖÁö ¾ÊÀº °÷¿¡¼ °¡ºÎÁ¸¦ ÇÏ°í .... ¾É¾Æ¼ ÀÚ±â ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ÆòÈÀÇ °æÁö¸¦ »ìÆ캸°í ÀÖ´Â °ÍÀ» ¼¼Á¸²²¼ º¸¼Ì´Ù.
±× ¶§, ±×°ÍÀÇ Àǹ̡¤Á߿伺À» ±ú´ÞÀ¸½Ã°í¼ ¼¼Á¸²²¼´Â ¹Ù·Î ±× ¼ø°£ ¿µ°¨À» ÁÖ´Â ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ °Ô¼ÛÀ» À¼À¸¼Ì´Ù.
For a bhikkhu whose mind is calm and peaceful,
Who has cut the cord (of craving for being).
The wandering on in births is finished:
He is freed from Mara¡¯s bonds
Àڱ⠸¶À½ÀÌ °í¿äÇÏ°í Æòȷοì¸ç
