16. The Learner
배워야 할 것이 있는 사람
This was said by the Lord....
"Bhikkhus, in regard to internal factors, I do not perceive another
single factor so helpful as wise attention for a bhikkhu who is
a learner, who has not attained perfection but lives aspiring for
the supreme security from bondage. Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu who
wisely attends abandons what is unwholesome and develops
what is wholesome."
세존께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다고.... [나는 들었다].
“비구들이여! 내적인 요소와 관련하여, 아직 배워야 할 것이 있는
사람[有學], 아직 완전함을 성취하지 못하여 [오히려] 속박에서
위 없는 안정을 희구하면서 살아가는 비구들에게 ‘현명하게 주의를
기울이는 것’ 만큼 도움을 주는 단 하나의 요소도 나는 느끼지 못하오.
비구들이여! 현명하게 주의를 기울이는 비구는 좋지 못한 것[不善業]을
버리고 건전한 것[善業]을 갈고 닦지요.”
For a bhikkhu who is a learner
There is no other thing so helpful
For reaching the highest goal
As the factor wise attention.
Wisely striving a bhikkhu may attain
The destruction of all suffering.
배울 것이 있는 사람인 비구에게는
최고의 목표에 도달하기 위해
현명하게 주의를 기울이는 것만큼
도움이 되는 다른 것이 하나도 없네.
비구가 현명하게 정진하면
모든 괴로움을 소멸할 수 있네.
