71. Right View
올바른 견해[正見]
This was said by the Lord....
"Bhikkhus, I have seen beings who practise good conduct
by body, speech, and mind, who do not vilify the noble ones,
who hold right view and perform various deeds because of
their right view. When the body perishes, those beings are
reborn after death in a good bourn, a heavenly world. I say
this, bhikkhus, without having learnt it from another recluse
or brahmin. It is just because I myself have known it, seen it,
and observed it that I say: 'Bhikkhus, I have seen beings who
practise good conduct by body, speech, and mind ... reborn after
death in a good bourn, a heavenly world.'"
세존께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다고.... [나는 들었다].
“비구들이여! 나는 몸과 말과 마음으로 선업을 짓고, 성인들을
비방하지 않으며 올바른 견해를 갖추고 그 올바른 견해 덕분에
다양한 업을 짓는 존재[중생]들을 보아 왔소. 죽은 뒤 몸이 사라질
때 그 존재들은 좋은 곳, 천계(天界)에 다시 태어나지요. 비구들이여!
내가 또 다른 수행자나 바라문에게서 듣지 않고, [직접 보고서]
이것을 말하는 것이오. 내가 ‘비구들이여! 나는 몸과 말과 마음으로
선업을 짓고, ... 보아 왔소. 죽은 뒤... 좋은 곳, 천계에 다시 태어나지요.
’라고 말하는 것은 내 스스로가 그것을 [직접] 알고, 보고 관찰하여
왔기 때문이오.”
An individual here with
A rightly directed mind
Who utters right speech
And performs right deeds,
One of much learning,
Who does much merit in this short life -
Upon the perishing of the body
That wise one is reborn in heaven.
여기[今生]에서 바르게 방향을 잡은 마음으로
올바른 말[正語]을 토해내고
올바른 행동[正業]을 짓는 사람,
이 짧은 인생에 많은 공덕을 짓는
배움[智慧]을 많이 갖춘 사람 -
그 현자는 몸이 사라지는 순간에
천상에 다시 태어나네.
