62. Faculties
재능
This was said by the Lord....
"Bhikkhus, there are these three faculties. What three? The faculty of the assurance: 'I shall come to finally know what is as yet not finally known'; the faculty of final knowledge; and the faculty to one who has finally known. These, bhikkhus, are the three faculties."
세존께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다고.... [나는 들었다].
“비구들이여! 이들 세 가지 재능이 있소. 세 가지가 무엇일까요? ‘내가 아직 알지 못하고 있는 것을 마침내 알게 될 것이다’는 확신(確信)의 재능, 궁극적 지혜의 재능 그리고 [진리를] 마침내 알게 된 사람의 재능이오. 비구들이여! 이것들이 세 가지 재능이오.”
For a learner who is training
In conformity with the direct path,
The knowledge of destruction arises first,
And final knowledge immediately follows.
Freed by that final knowledge,
By destroying the fetters of being
The serene one has the certainty:
"Unshakeable is my release."
Endowed with this faculty
The peaceful one delights in the peaceful state.
Having conquered Mara and his mount,
He bears his final body.
똑바로 난 길에 맞추어
수행하고 있는 ‘공부할 것이 있는 사람[有學]’에게는
[번뇌의] 소멸에 관한 지혜가 맨 먼저 생겨나고
궁극의 지혜가 곧바로 그 뒤를 따르네.
그 궁극의 지혜로 해탈한 고요한 사람은
존재라는 속박을 소멸시킴으로 해서
“나의 해탈은 흔들리지 않는다”는
확신을 가지네.
이런 재능을 타고난
평화로운 사람은 평화의 경지에서 기뻐하네.
그는 마라[惡魔]와 그의 탈것을 정복하고서
[더 이상 윤회하지 않고] 그의 마지막 몸을 받네.
