정직하지 않은 사람
This was said by the Lord·.
“Bhikkhus, whatever bhikkhus are deceitful, stubborn,
mere talkers, frauds, arrogant, and unconcentrated, these
bhikkhus are no followers of mine. They have turned aside
from this Dhamma-and-Discipline and will not achieve
growth, progress, or development within it.
But whatever bhikkhus are not deceitful, not mere talkers,
wise, adaptable, and well concentrated, these bhikkhus are
indeed my followers. They have not turned aside from this
Dhamma-and-Discipline and will achieve growth, progress,
and development within it."
세존께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다고.... [나는 들었다].
“비구들이여! 그 어떤 비구든 정직하지 않고 외고집이며 수다쟁
이에 불과하고 사기꾼이며 거만하고 [주의력이 없이] 산만하다면,
이런 비구들은 절대로 내 제자들이 아니오. 그들은 이 진리 법과
계율에서 벗어나 왔으며 그 안에서 성장․진보 혹은 발전을 성취할
수 없을 것이오.
그러나 그 어떤 비구든 속이지 않고 괜한 수다쟁이가 아니며 현명하고
융통성이 있으며 [마음을 집중하여] 안정되어 있다면, 이런 비구들
이야말로 바로 내 제자들이오. 그들은 이 진리 법과 계율에서 벗어나
오지 않았으며 그 안에서 성장․진보 그리고 발전을 성취할 것이오.”
Deceitful, stubborn, mere talkers,
Frauds, arrogant, unconcentrated
These make no progress in the Dhamma
Taught by the Fully Enlightened One.
Undeceitful, not talkative, wise,
Adaptable, well concentrated
Such as these progress in the Dhamma
Taught by the Fully Enlightened One.
정직하지 않고 외고집이며 수다쟁이에 불과하고
사기꾼이며 거만하고 [주의력이 없이] 산만한 사람들 -
이들은 원만하게 깨달으신 분께서 가르치신
진리 법 안에서 아무런 진보도 이루지 못하네.
속이지 않고 수다스럽지 않으며 현명하고
융통성이 있고 [마음] 집중이 잘 된 사람들 -
이와 같은 사람들은 원만하게 깨달으신 분께서 가르치신
진리 법 안에서 진보를 이루네.
